Primates and Philosophy
The origin of man has been a long standing debate for over centuries. The most outstanding debate has featured creationism on one hand and evolution on the other. The theory of evolution posits that the modern day man is a product of an evolution that has occurred over million of years. Initially, man belonged in the same class with apes called primates. The theory states that man, through a combination of environmental and genetic factors, emerged as a species to produce the variety of ethnicities seen today, while modern apes evolved on a separate evolutionary pathway.
