Jean Piaget is a renowned psychologist born in the year 1986 in Neuchatel, Switzerland. Piaget’s family environment can be considered as one of the most influencing factors that triggered his enduring efforts in epistemology of natural science studies. It is important to note that, Piaget’s father was progressive medieval philosopher in literature studies. Since his father was a great scholar, Piaget was brought up in an environment where studies were upheld and promoted (Munuri, 2001). As a result, Piaget’s interests in biological knowledge were cushioned up by the availability of learning and studying opportunities in highly sophisticated learning institutions. It is important to note that, much of John Piaget’s early childhood experiences were largely influenced by his father, who seemed very much dedicated in studies and philosophical work. Due to this, Piaget started passing up recreation for philosophical studies in natural sciences at an early age of 11 years (Mayer, 2005). In this paper, a critical analysis of Jean Piaget as a genius scientist will be brought into focus, by his discussing his revolutionary contributions in the field of developmental psychology.
