Impact of internet on society
Internet has become one of the most transforming inventions in human history. In a spun of a few decades ago, internet has transformed society in unimaginable and unforeseen ways. Towards the end of the 20th century, internet connectivity had produced what Hauben and Hauben referred to as netzens, a word coined from Net citizens. New terminologies came with internet: World Wide Web (WWW), HTML, Web pages, search engines, web server, URL, ISDN and the list goes on. In 2009, the Oxford Dictionary added “unfriend” as part of the English words heralding a new era of how internet would transform language. Words that were known just to well as travel, trade, mail, toys, commerce, business, line services, books, have now become e-trade, e-mail, e-commerce, e-books, e-toys, e-business on-line services, e-learning and so forth. Almost in all sectors businesses are no longer usual.
