The period of reconstruction ranges between 1965 and 1977. The is the period during and after the American Civil War in which attempts were made to solve the political, social, and economic problems that occurred after the readmission to the union of the 11 Confederate states that had seceded at or before the outbreak of war.History During the reconstruction, America tested what it meant to live in a mixed racial democracy (Stroud and Schomp, 2006). The reconstruction period expanded the responsibility of the central government which led to the Thirteenth, Fourteenth, and Fifteenth Amendments to the constitution.
