With regards to the high consideration and attention to excellence in business performance, there has always been the need to identify the core factors leading to success. In this case, leadership and proper management strategies have been identified as key fundamentals for success. Leadership has been identified as the heart and soul of excellence. In the organizational setting, the concept of leadership is in this case made a basic fundamental for better performance. Leadership has been regarded as a systemic that extents the ability of an organization to counter threats thus acting as an immune for the business concerning unresolved crises. It is worth noting that leadership is distinct from management in the sense that it entails the establishment of a clear vision, communicating of the vision as well as resolving conflicts between different individuals who have the responsibility of completing the company’s vision. Leadership has been noted to have significant impact in an organization in the sense that it helps in defining the mission and vision of the organization as well as establishing structures of achieving the set goals. Good leadership ensures the formulation of good policies and guidelines which ensure full participation and focus of all individuals. Communication and relationships within the organization is also a product of leadership, which in this case affects the level of motivation. Based on these insights, it is evident that leadership plays a vital role in improving the performance of an organization.
